Charity

We want to share the success of the Windmill Windup. We do so by donating to two charities we have carefully selected. More than 3% of our budget is allocated to these projects. By doing so we can structurally help these funds to do their work providing them with a yearly income .

Windmill Charity

Every year Windmill Windup works with one of 2 international charities (Open Arms Malawi or Road to 40) to provide awareness and financial support for organizations working with children in developing countries. The focus charity for 2010 is Open Arms Malawi.
The Windmill Windup crew are planning on helping OAM by hosting the first ever Huck Competition (sponsored by Bugaboo International BV). All Windmill players are encouraged and welcome to tryout, see below for details.

Open Arms Malawi: love one day

Open Arms Malawi

The objectives of the Open Arms are to raise funds to provide for the relief of children in Malawi suffering from hardship and distress by reason of their social and economic circumstances. Open Arms provides shelter, food, care, love and medical facilities for fifty orphaned or abandoned infants from one day old to five years old. Open Arms returns, wherever possible, immunized, fit toddlers to relations in village or townships and monitors the 'returnees' subsequent progress. The organization also supports impoverished grandparents or near relations who have accepted the children back into their communities.

Road to 40

Road to 40: Goals We work, together with our parent organization Room to Read, with local communities throughout the developing world to provide quality educational opportunities by establishing libraries, creating local language children's literature, constructing schools, and providing education to girls. We seek to intervene early in the lives of children in the belief that education empowers people to improve socioeconomic conditions for their families, communities, countries and future generations. Through the opportunities that only education can provide, we strive to break the cycle of poverty, one child at a time.

www.roadto40.org

Road to 40's aim: To raise the money required to build 40 schools in partnership with Room to Read before July 4th, 2011
